Books are something that have I have adored from a young age, I would be happy to sit and read for an hour if the book is good. I have many favourie authors that I could talk about for days.
Taherah Mafi's Shatter Me trilogy is without a doubt my favourite book series. The books are dystopian thrillers for young adults about a girl with a unique gift, as her touch may be hazardous and lethal. She was imprisoned for a crime she unintentionally committed. The plots of the works are complex, page-turning, and emotional. I felt like I was getting to know the characters and seeing their evolution across the entire series. Though the writing isn't particularly exquisite, the narrative and characters compensate. The characters in the books are diverse as well. These novels will always stick out to me, even if they aren't for everyone.
Colleen Hoover is another of my favourite authors. She's written a number of books that are both emotional and disturbing. It Ends with Us, Ugly Love, and November 9th are three of my personal favourites from her. Her prose is beautiful and cosmic. Almost all of her works include a gloomy narrative with passion and reality regarding real-life events. One of my favourite aspects of her works is that by the time you get to the last few pages, you've figured out what the title and cover of the book mean. Despite the fact that her writings are tragic, I find solace and enjoyment in them.
